Marianela Smale was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She attended Santa Maria University, where she earned her Juris Doctor (JD) degree and spent two years clerking for a family judge. In 2000, she obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, followed by a master's in business administration (MBA) from Alverno College. Before attending law school in the United States, she worked with several companies, including Grainger, SC Johnson, and Dairy Farmers of America.
In 2023, she received a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and is involved with the immigration Justice Campaign, where she provides legal services to immigrants who cannot afford a lawyer.
Kelly J. Freeman is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. She graduated from Concordia University, summa cum laude, with a degree in Business. Before attending law school, Kelly was a legal assistant in Rock County. She is licensed in the State of Wisconsin and the Western District Federal Court in Wisconsin.
During her time in law school, Kelly participated in Legal Assistant to Institutionalized Persons Project through the nationally renowned Frank J. Remington Center. She gained valuable experience with complex criminal law matters and argued motions to the court. She also participated in the Prosecution Program, where she completed an externship with the Walworth County District Attorney’s Office, acting as a student attorney.
As an attorney, Mrs. Freeman is a zealous advocate for her clients. She primarily practices in the areas of criminal law and estate planning. She understands the importance of meeting face to face with your attorney, and the value of being reached in case of an emergency immediately. Mrs. Freeman prides her practice on accessibility to clients, honesty, and by providing a comprehensive and dedicated defense on every client matter.
